Just caught the last few minutes of "The Soloist" on UBC (Thai satellite service). RD Jnr having a heart to heart with female lying down on bed (no sex) with him wearing a GRATEFUL DEAD (skull & roses logo) T-shirt. If memory serves me correct RD Jnr was also caught wearing one in "Air America" with Mel Gibson. Once is unfortunate (!), twice is more than a coincidence .......... so, can we conclude that RD Jnr is a 'loud & proud' Deadhead (hope he's not been downloading those soundboards)?

No more photos of Justin Timberlake in his jogging atire plz.

Thai satellite service? Are you in Thailand? Curious if there are other folks here in Asia. There's one guy in Indonesia who pops in periodically.

yep - the sleepy royal city of Hua Hin (where the king has his summer palace and various other royals retire at weekends tho' they spend the bulk of their time in and around Bangkok),

Referred to as Paradise City by the Thais (though if this is paradise I don't want to see anywhere lower down the scale).

Paradise City where the grass is green and the girls are pretty (Guns & Roses) - or my alternative version:- where the beer is cheap and the women are cheaper .........

Hua Hin trivia - they shot (bad choice of word!) the hotel scenes of "The Killing Fields" in the Railway Hotel in Hua Hin, Cambodia still being just a tad difficult to visit at the time.

Nice! Do you live in Thailand, or just visiting? I've been to Koh Samet, which I guess isn't that far from you. We've promised our wannabe-beach-bum son a trip to the beach sometime, which basically means Thailand, that being the closest beach to us ...

OK, maybe not literally; there are lots of beaches along the Bay of Bengal. But, hey, there's a direct flight to Bangkok, and it does seem to be the place where people go to stock up on various things. (Where do you find Elmer's Glue? Bangkok! Exacto knives for art projects? Bangkok! LOL, the City of All Things.)

Well, sawatdee, and enjoy the sun and surf and yummy food ...

You could also take the scenic route through the "Bridge on the River Kwai" route...note: there were over 600 bridges, NOT one. And, the locals changed the name of the more northerly, easily accessed river to "Kwai" so they could get more tourists. And the movie was filmed in Ceylon (Sri Lanka).

lived here for 6 years apart from 3 six month trips back to the mother country (UK) to do some casual work to earn money for (3) kids International (english-speaking)school fees. Alas cannot do any more 'cos UK has been invaded by poles who are doing all the minimum wage work resulting in high unemployment levels for the locals - bitter, me? Used to find that after 6 months in the UK I was ready to come back to thailand and then after 6 months in thailand I was ready to go back to the UK. Now it seems I'm here for good - latest stint is 18 months plus. Like everything in life, it has its good points and its bad points but I do get homesick quite often. Bangkok - you can get (buy) anything in Bangkok - even things you didn't know you wanted !!!!!

Hey, dude, don't rag on my Polish relatives. It takes a lot of money to keep families in kielbasi.

That must be some high-paying casual work to pay 3 int'l school fees with six months work. Hereabouts, that would be about $45,000 for three kids. (Or, of course, free, if you happen to work for, say, the World Bank. In which case your driver can bring the kids to school while you're off spending your "hardship pay," LOL.)

One of the many advantages of homeschooling ... definitely cheaper :-)

He would except for his age. No amount of makeup could convince me that he was 23 years old.
